What is there to do in Tangier?

While you’re technically in Morocco, you get a feel of Spain when you step into Tangier. Here are a few cool things to do there:

  1. One of the most popular activities in Tangier is heading to one of the lookout points where you can see Spain’s southern coast. You can also hop on a ferry and cross continents, arriving at the Spanish port.

  1. Step back in time by visiting the medina, also known as Tangier Old Town. The medina has a bit of everything, whether shopping, drinking coffee, sightseeing, or eating a delicious Morrocan meal. There are monuments and museums here to visit as well.

  1. Take in the sea views at Cap Spartel & Rmilat Park. They are some of the finest on the northwest coast of Africa, offering views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Bring your backpack and hike through the trails. And, of course, don’t forget your camera. For the best pictures and experience, plan a trip just before sunset.

  1. If you take a summer trip, spend some time at Tangier Beach. While the water might be a bit cool, it’s still the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll and admire the coastline’s beauty.

  1. Visit Tangier’s Kasbah, a 17th-century fortress filled with history and beautiful wooden carvings.

  1. Sit on one of the park benches at Ville Nouvelle and admire the historic architecture while watching the boats come into the harbor.

  1. Find tranquility at St. Andrew’s Church. This is the perfect place to relax in peace if you’re tired of the crowds. The church was built in 1905 and provides some of the most breathtaking views of Tangier.
